My Insta-January 2016 |Smugnificent

It is time again for my insta-month post and while choosing the photos one think became obvious, this month was delicious! Coming back from holidays is never easy and January was certainly really full with its ups and downs but I can certainly say it had some cool highlights.

The only thing I could say I didn't really enjoyed this month was being away from my home for a big part of it. Traveling for work or even for vacation is cool and fun but overall wanderlust is not one of my traits, I love staying home too much hahaha.

The beginning of the year found me in Greece, spending the last few days of my vacation with friends and family and enjoying some absolutely tasty food. Yes as you might have guessed from all the photos I post while being in Greece I miss the food (and the drinks) so much! And even more sharing it with wonderful company. I returned home to a ton of work but also with (and to) a lot of packages, presents from friends and family, from myself and a lot of holiday shopping. I just recently managed to put all of these in place (and I am still waiting for a last package from Greece that didn't fit my suitcase haha) and start putting many new products to the test. I have filmed a large collective haul if you want to see more details (also here in Greek).

Taking down the holiday decorations was sad but I felt more cheerful by choosing new winter decorations and candles. Soon after I returned I got a bit sick; nothing too serious but I had a horrible hoarse voice so I couldn't film at all (and I had missed filming). As soon as I felt a bit better I had to leave again to Wengen for the Epidemiology winter school. I had to combine courses with a lot of work so I cannot say I really managed to enjoy my stay there but Wengen is a gorgeous place and I would be a fool if I said I didn't love working in such a beautiful scenery. To make things better I stayed at a wonderful hotel with a great chef (I warned you this month was delicious!).  And for the best way to close the month I got to go to Dylan Moran's stand up show in Basel! He is my favourite stand up comedian and I loved him so much in Black Books so I was so excited and he certainly didn't disappoint me, I had such a fun evening!

How was your month? I hope 2016 started good for all of you and that it will get better as the year advances. Leave me your happiest memory of January down below so I can also get a glimpse of your month.

  2. Such a great month in pics! I also enjoy travelling as you said but hate "living on a suitcase" I need my home and my things (my pillow, lol).
My sweetest memory this january was a weekend with the family enjoying snows and mountain life (which I ususally hate) but my children are so much fun!
